Quick Update

I'm about midway through the promised article on backups, and it's a beast. <g>

It'll show you how to organize your hard drive(s) so you're not saddled with having to make gigantic backup sets; how to make efficient and automatic backups in Win9x/ME, Win2K and XP; and it will show you the scripts I use to backup, rename, zip-compress, and password-protect my daily backups. Many of you can use the scripts almost as-is; others of you can use them as a general template to edit and modify as needed to suit your own specific setup.

But with the holidays fast approaching, I simply didn't have time to produce a full issue today *and* do the feature on backups. So here's the plan:

Monday 2001-12-17: Normal issue.

(+/-)Thursday 2001-12-20: End-of-the-year special issue, with a focus on backups.
